i saw this film about 10/15 years ago on tv and didn't catch the title and it's been driving me crazy ever since!
It starts with a suicidal girl phoning into a talk radio station. The conversation went like this..
Girl: "Its crazy isn't it? you get born and everybody makes a big deal over you, and some priest splashes water on your head, when you die you get flowers on your grave, but inbetween? it's like you're not there. So what's the difference right?"
DJ: "Oh terrific, that's very poetic sweetheart. Now in the meantime, i do have some other fruitcakes on the other line so whadoyasay i get back to work and you go out and jump infront of a taxi someplace ok? Thanks for calling. And on that happy note, a few badly phrased words from Foleys Hardware.."
Thie girl then disappears and the DJ feels really guilty, so he launches this big hunt for her on air. The whole town ends up looking for her and it's great suspense, until the end, when she's found on the beach under a pier. Alive or dead? Uh, do you really wanna know? I don't want to spoil the ending for you now incase you ever see it!
I don't think there are any famous actors in it, but it definitely has the look of a 70's film. It is possible it's late 60's, but i think 70's.
So........anyone any ideas?? Please help me, it's driven me wild (suicidal!) trying to find out what it's called - the film search engines on Google are crap.
